(FOR FULL COMIC CON REPORTS CLICK ON "NEWS" ICON - OR THE SCROLL ABOVE)Hello everyone. The Boneman and I (along with our faithful photographers Tyler and Thomas) are back from four glorious days in a whale's vagina. We're speaking, of course, of movie geek heaven – the exhilarating Comic-Con convention in beautiful San Diego, CA. We survived the grueling 100 hour plus experience and are here to tell you all about it in as much detail as we can. At the moment, we're sifting through a novel's worth of notes and with any luck we'll have a couple of reports up today. In addition, we should have our reviews up for Clerks II and Lady in the Water shortly. As for Comic-Con, it is probably my favorite geek-out event of the year. With all due respect to Sundance and ShoWest, Comic Con takes the ultimate prize. Why? Well, this event is particularly exciting because it's tailor made for the fans. I've never really fancied myself a critic, rather a just a big fan who gets to express his opinion. Comic-Con provides that same sort of giddy spark I used to get as a teenager when I'd camp out for a movie premiere. Of course, back then, it was the ultimate act of fanboy geekdom. Nowadays, it's certainly sheik to be geek, and Comic Con, if nothing else, is hard core proof of that. It's like the grand celebration after the nerds have conquered earth. Even the Boneman was bitten by the buzz bug during his first Comic-Con adventure. He loved the proceedings as much as I did. Anyway, stay tuned for our reports. We saw screenings (Monster House in Digital 3-D, Accepted, Borat, The Descent, This Film Is Not Yet Rated), experienced eye-popping presentations (Grindhouse, Spider-Man 3, The Power of the Dark Crystal, Eragon, Pan's Labyrinth, Ghost Rider, Hot Fuzz, 300, etc.), listened to film makers speak and field questions (Guilmero Del Toro, Kevin Smith, Quentin Tarantino, Sam Raimi, Edgar Wright, etc.), and browsed the enormous sales floor. Again, we'll cover as much of this stuff as we can. Watch for the first of our reports later today.
