Hello everyone. For those of you who hit the site regularly, I just wanted to let you know that I am, in fact, alive. I've just been extremely busy as of late. Just last weekend we threw our sixth annual Horror-Fest spootackular. It was a blast. Our bi-annual Guerilla Film Competition brought in our biggest crowd yet. (Congrats to Lonnie Black and Brandon Tippets for the winning entry, thanks to all and look for a comprehensive recap in the days to come.) Between that, and the recent birth of my new son, I've found myself scrambling to stay afloat. At the moment, I'm in the midst of catching up on reviews. I just sent over 30 Days of Night for posting and watch for Michael Clayton later today. A special thanks to gifted Flick Chick writers Judy Thorburn and Victoria Alexander for keeping us updated in my absence. On a final note, I will be travelling to Sin City this weekend with music guru Kyle England to soak in the rock n' roll bliss that is Vegoose. There's been much talk about the two day festival. Our own Boneman wasn't terribly impressed by the line-up this year and will be taking a pass. While the schedule might not be brimming with a plethora of great bands, there are a few striking names on that list. The one that really jumps out is Iggy and the Stooges. Getting to see such a seminal band alone should be worth the price of admission. Also worth mentioning; The Shins, Queens of the Stone Age, and Muse. This year's line-up isn't as strong as the first two years, but it still beats the hell out of L.A.'s recent Weenie Roasts! Kyle and I will give a full report following the big event.

I'd say the Boneman is a fool, I mean how many people get to go to Vegas for a killer Music festival in the perfect weather. What's more he gets in free. Please dude, I know you're a lot older than you look but I'd say you're about over the hill.

Al, I suppose the way all this has been written up does make me out to be something of an ungrateful schmuck. The thing that has gone unmentioned is that this weekend I've got earmarked for carving pumpkins and making carmeled apples and helping my kids with their costumes. One year not far off, they'll be too old for this sort of thing and then I'll be all the more over the hill. Besides, living 3 or 4 hundred miles from Kyle I don't get the opportunity to thank him for his awesome contribution to the site and since he's a much bigger fan of Iggy Pop than am I, it seemed like the best way to play my cards. Which isn't to say that I'm not a fool, however - just in general.
