ShoWest Becomes CinemaCon - Adam Explains and Presents Massive Podcast!
CINEMACON INTRO AND PODCAST FEATURING A LOOK AT SUPER 8, THOR, THE MUPPETS, CAPTAIN AMERICA, PUSS IN BOOTS, JAMES CAMERON, AND MUCH, MUCH MORE! I'm hard at work on my CinemaCon articles and should have them up in the next few days but while you're waiting, have a listen to this epic podcast I put together with Dustin Buchanan! Its lengthy, but we pretty much cover all the bases - and there's loads of gratuitous nudity. Not really, but have a listen while you're doing house work. It'll make the time go by faster. Again, we'll have articles and a video blog up soon. What's CinemaCon? Well, its an annual gathering of theater owners from all over the world. It was created as a showcase for the latest in movie theater hardware. More importantly, it's a platform for all the major studios to strut their stuff. CinemaCon used to be known as ShoWest and in addition to the new name, Hollywood's best kept secret also has a new home. The event is now held at Caeser's Palace (it used to be held at Bally's and Paris) and the buzz throughout the convention hall was undeniable. The majority of the movie studio presentations were held at the breathtaking Collosseum (a massive concert hall Celine Dion calls her home). Hollywood's biggest distributors brought along some amazing footage to dazzle attendees with. Before getting to the podcast, special thanks are in order. Firstly, props to Shaun Labrecque, Bernie Laub, and Sheldon Demke for taking some of the pressure off yours truly. Through their generous aid, I was able to get some great photos and video.. Not only are Shaun, Bernie, and Sheldon colleagues, but they're great friends as well and it was amazing having them along for the ride. Secondly, thanks to The Boneman for all his efforts in making sure this stuff gets posted. Unfortunately, the mighty one was unable to attend the con this year. Props to Heather, Jessica, Emily, and everyone at the press department. Heather has been handling press duties at the con for as long as I can remember and she and her crew have always been more than accommodating. I always feel very fortunate to be invited to CinemaCon particularly when taking into consideration that this isn't really a get together geared toward press and movie geek types. Therefore, thank you CinemaCon for always having us back. And thank you CinemaCon for your undeniable showmanship. I could only hope that each trip to the movie theater would be as awe inspiring as your convention presentations. The sound, the screen, the overall vibe. CinemaCon is next to none when it comes to the complete cinematic experience. On a final note, I'd be an ignorant bastard if I didn't offer up a special round of applause to my wife and kids whose endless support never ceases to amaze me. Oh, and thanks to Dustin Buchanan for a fun evening at Choose Funny! CinemaCon Podcast; (expect a bit of colorful language) Add your own comment here and see it posted immediately!
