Showest Young Man - Adam is off to Vegas for Showest 2008

Oh yea, and that other Adam . . .

It's Monday March 10th, and we're off to ShoWest 2008. ShoWest is one of the best kept secrets of the film world. The four day convention was set up by the Theater Owners Organization as a showcase for all the latest in Movie Theater hardware. Projection equipment, marquees, theater seats, the latest in snack bar goodies, etc. Naturally, the big reason I like to attend, is to watch the studios trot out all their big stars and to see Hollywood heavyweigts like Warner Brothers and Universal crank out the movie buzz machine. On slate for the 2008 convention? Glimpses at Iron Man, The Dark Knight, The Incredible Hulk, Monster Vs. Aliens, Get Smart, Speed Racer, and Clone Wars just to name a few. We'll also get to see advance screenings of some big up and coming films including Kung Fu Panda, 21, Hamlet 2, Son of Rambow, and Journey to the Center of the Earth in 3-D. There are a couple of other screening titles that have yet to be announced.

And finally, if we're really lucky, we'll have the opportunity to chat with the likes of Robert Downey Jr., Seth Rogen, Anne Hathaway, Abigail Breslin, Christian Bale, and a slew of others. ShoWest tends to be pretty overwhelming, but I wouldn't want it any other way. Watch for our big ShoWest piece here at the site. We'll try and update daily if we get a breather.
