At the moment, The Boneman and I are gearing up for our annual Comic-Con excursion. I've been combing the net looking for interesting things to report and I discovered that a partial Vegoose line-up was just announced. Vegoose is a kick ass, two day rock festival that takes place every October in Sin City. It's thrown by the same rock Gods that put Bonnaroo together. Vegoose is still relatively young (it's only going on it's third year), but it's every bit as fun as Coachella and some of the other rock festivals our writers have attended. At the moment, the Vegoose site has announced nineteen bands, but there will certainly be more as this is a two day festival. The partial lineup is as follows;

Rage Against the Machine, Daft Punk, Iggy and the Stooges (performing Fun House), Muse, The Shins, Cypress Hill, Queens of the Stone Age, Public Enemy, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Umphrey's McGee, Thievery Corporation, STS9, Ghostface Killah and the Rhythm Roots All-Stars, Blonde Redhead, Gogol Bordello, U.N.K.L.E., Ghostland Observatory, Pharoahe Monch, and Battles.

Again, there are plenty more names to be added to the already stellar list. Following months of speculation, It's nice to see that Rage didn't dictate an entire weekend of aggressive rock. My favorite aspect of Vegoose has always been it's nod to indie bands. It's nice to see The Shins up there. Of the entire line up though, it's Iggy that I'm most excited about. And they're doing the entire Fun House album. How fucking cool is that!

Bands I'd like to see added. I'd love to see Arcade Fire again, but that ain't gonna happen, because they'll be over seas that weekend. The two acts I'm really hoping jump on the bill are Polyphonic Spree and Rodrigo Y Gabriella. Amazing live acts. Of course if they don't end up on the line-up, I'll still be there. They had me at Iggy.

Vegoose takes place on October 27th and 28th at Sam Boyd Arena, with special late night shows taking place on the evenings of October 26th, 27th, and 28th, at various venues across Las Vegas. These late night shows are not part of the actual two day festival. There's a separate admission. Tickets for the two day festival are $146.50 and go on sale at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 28th. There are also a limited number of V.I.P. tickets. They'll set you back about $477.00.
