"Excuse me, I'm sorry I was working on another new story-line, I started to understand what was going on and it spooked me."

The man who virtually invented a kind of film - the interwoven story-line character study is known universally as Almanesque - is close to signing a deal with a distributor
for his next project. He and writer Stephen Harrigan are looking to develop a script based on the events depicted in SR Bindler's 1997 documentary Hands on a Hard Body: The Documentary about the Texas endurance contest that offered a new Nissan Hardbody truck as a prize. The last person standing with a hand on the truck got to take it home. Altman has wanted to direct the project for years. When you think of it, who else could take such a premise and make it work?
