Borat #1 despite Chicken Distributor

BORAT looks like it will turn a profit in its opening week from revenues from the US box-office alone. Despite playing in just 800 pictures, sources are already reporting that the film took 10 million dollars in it's first day (Friday) alone. That's withough any overseas box-office takings (the film opened to packed houses in the UK a day earlier on Thursday).

Studio estimates put the film at making around 30 million dollars over the three days, easily putting it in the number one spot above the other big American release this week, THE SANTA CLAUSE 3: THE ESCAPE CLAUSE, which opened in around 3500 theaters.

BORAT is set to expand to more cinemas in the US this coming Friday. Write your local politicians and bring Borat to your hometown.
