GUERILLA FILM-MAKING COMPETITION ROCKS RED CLIFF CINEMA!
The 10th Edition of the Guerila Film-Making Competition was a smashing success. There were nine films in total, and all were extremely entertaining in their own unique way. Included; Cappuccino Royale directed by ten-timers Lonnie Black and Brandon Tippetts, White Flowers directed by Christy Webb, B.O.O.B.S. directed by Kim Garrett, The Park directed by Trey Patterson, Bountiful Honey directed by Christian Navarrete and Inti Chabert, and Bo-Bana directed by Dustin Buchanan and Cragun Clayburn. The winners; Veteran guerila short director Sam Perez took home the Jury Prize for Barefoot Samurai Zan, a hilariously creative homage to badly dubbed samurai flicks. Newcomer Jonathan Klimoski was honored with the Audience Choice Award for Candy World, a zany, surreal fantasy about an eccentric and his journey to...you guessed it...a world inhabited by sweet treats. Newbie Eric Campbell was given a special honorable mention for The Apartment 2: Rent Past Due, a wink at the classic 60's comedy starring Jack Lemmon. Following the Guerila Shorts Presentation, Adam presented a Local Film-Maker Spotlight. Included; a film I made called "Can You Hear Me?", Tysen Bang's crowd pleasing actioneer "Operative 2," And Adam Mast's Indiana Jones homage "Idaho Smith and The Treasure of the Emerald Pool." With any luck, most of these films will be available on line soon. We'll be sure to provide links right here at Zboneman.com. Special thanks to Westates and sponsors Troy's BBQ, 25 Main, The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, and The T-Shirt Factory. Further kudos to James L. Cook, David Farland, Josh Warburton, and Bruce Bennett for lending their time as judges. The 11th Edition of the Guerila Film-Making Competition will take place at The Electric Theater this October.
