Hanks a Million
Hanks was willing to take a 15 million dollar cut in pay if the studio would let him lose that dopey haircut. Studio execs held firm citing the fact that filmgoers come just to see the hair, it's like John Travolta in the fat lady suit in Hairspray.

Tom Hanks will become the highest paid actor in Hollywood history when he stars in a follow up to The Da Vinci Code. Columbia Pictures has reportedly agreed to pay Hanks between $29 million and $49 million to appear in Angels and Demons, based on an earlier Dan Brown book. Hanks was paid $25 million for the earlier movie.
Hanks will reprise the role of Robert Langdon in Angels and Demons, which is set before the Da Vinci Code. Of course whether Hanks recieves 29 million or 49 million will depend entirely on whether or not he can solve a series of encoded riddles involving The Vatican, The Masons and Kevin Bacon.
