Out of the gate first, A Mighty Heart seeks to avoid a Pearl jam.

Before you're filled with confusion, imagining that someone has cast perhaps the most beautiful woman in the world to portray Janis Joplin - let your blood pressure subside. This Pearl is Marianne Pearl, widow of slain journalist Daniel Pearl. Her casting does not come as much of a jaw-dropper considering that signifother Brad Pitt is producing the film entitled A Mighty Heart from a script by Michael Winterbottom and Laurence Coriat. Winterbottom (Road To Guantanamo) will also direct. This production is being goosed by the news that another Pearl opus is slated to begin shooting this fall starring Josh Lucas entitled Who Killed Daniel Pearl. The smart money is on A Mighty Wind check that Heart to be the shiniest of these two gems.
