Lindsay Lohan would like to lose her wild-child tag - insisting it deflects attention away from her acting skills. And the actress believes her thespian talents would be held in higher regard if she wasn't in the newspapers so much.

She says, "Just because I have a nightlife doesn't mean that I'm, you know, not a good actress. Without (the media attention) my career would be different. I think maybe people would have considered me more in the area of Natalie Portman and those girls.

"What people don't understand is that the whole party girl thing is all an act. It's acting. I figure what better way to sharpen my thespian chops than by acting 24/7. I defy Natalie Portman to fake vomit - when it comes out your nose that's some serious acting."
