Marilyn Manson's estranged wife Dita Von Teese is going to extreme lengths to protect her trademark porcelain skin from the Cannes sun. The burlesque artist - who has been in France for the annual film festival this week - is so determined to avoid a tan she has shunned daytime swimming and changed her diet.

She says, "I have used my hotel pool, but only at night. And I have brought my own curtains to the hotel to stop the sun getting in... I have also packed vitamins to stop the sun doing anything to me. And if I find my palid complexion start to darken I think of Marilyn without his make up on and I go white as a ghost."
