First Round of Nominees Announced for 'People's Choice Awards'
Brad Pitt and Vince Vaughn will fight it out at next January's "33rd People's Choice Awards" in Hollywood after being named Best Leading Man nominees. Vaughn is nominated for his role opposite girlfriend Jennifer Aniston in The Break-Up, while her ex-husband has been honored for Babel.

Vaughn is also considered in the Best Onscreen Match-Up category with Aniston. They'll compete with Jack Nicholson, Matt Damon and Leonardo DiCaprio in The Departed and Johnny Depp and Keira Knightly in Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest.

In other categories, Johnny Depp, Samuel L. Jackson and Jet Li will fight it out for the Male Action Star prize and Aniston, Halle Berry and Sandra Bullock will compete for Best Female Movie Star.

Cameron Diaz, Kirsten Dunst and Scarlett Johansson will compete for the Leading Lady honor, while Kate Beckinsale, Berry and Uma Thurman are all nominated for the Female Action Star prize.

Meanwhile, Faith Hill will be hoping to avoid the cameras when she competes with Carrie Underwood again for Female Singer. Yesterday, she laughed off speculation she was upset when Underwood beat her to the Female Vocalist Of The Year accolade at the Country Music Association Awards, after she was filmed flailing her arms and apparently shouting "What?" when the winner was announced.

In other leading music categories, Black Eyed Peas, Nickelback and Red Hot Chili Peppers are nominated for Best Group, while country stars rule the male individual category - Trace Adkins, Keith Urban and Kenny Chesney will fight for the Male Singer prize.

The awards will be handed out at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on January 9. A second round of People's Choice nominees for categories including favorite movie, new TV comedy and remake of a song will be announced later.
