Sharpton Nips Nappy in Bud

American activist Reverend Al Sharpton has called off plans to honor record label executive Antonio 'L.A.' Reid, because he fears being called a hypocrite. Sharpton successfully campaigned to have shamed radio host Don Imus axed from his show after he called the players on Rutgers University women's basketball team "nappy headed hos" during a broadcast earlier this month.

Sharpton was due to present Reid with the James Brown Memorial Cultural Impact Award, but he has backed out to avoid appearing two-faced. Reid's client base boasts rapper Ludacris, whose song titles include hits "Nappy Headed Ho" "Dribble these Balls, Nappy Headed Bitch" "Rutgers Slutgirls."
