Soul Power is a well edited documentary feature chronicling the 1974 concert that preceded the famous "Rumble In The Jungle" where Ali took on George Foreman. Set in Zaire, this event paired up American soul acts such as The Spinners, Bill Withers and James Brown with African acts like Manu Dubango and Hugh Masekela. Although the music parts are more limited than expected they are on point and the interviews are quite compelling and politically adroit. It also features Mohammed Ali's always candid views on race and America, views of African city life and some funny jabs in between. And a good musical performance on a plane to boot.
