Heather Mills McCartney is preparing to take legal action over allegations that she was a high-class prostitute who engaged in group and lesbian sex. Her lawyers said in a statement that the claims in UK Sunday newspaper the 'News of the were "untrue and highly defamatory". The statement also went on to say, "Heather is very distressed by this article. She continues to recover slowly from her revision amputation operation and has suffered weight loss, anxiety and sleeping problems as a result of the stress and anxiety of the break-up of her marriage. The coverage of this in certain newspapers has caused further distress and illness to her." The rumours surrounding Heather's supposed seedy past only came to light after her well-publicised split with former Beatle, Sir Paul McCartney last month. Personally, I feel the tabloids have turned this into a witch-hunt. Not only is Heather trying to recover from a painful operation, she has the worry of protecting her 2 year old daughter, Beatrice, is having to cope with the very public breakdown of her marriage AND defend the actions of her past, which is exactly at....her past. It's funny how people seem to forget all the good things Heather has done, for example, her continuing and committed charity work against cruelty to animals and the horrors of the fur trade. But like they say, good news does not sell papers. A sad but true fact.
