Will his offspring "The Federlings" be hated as well? Time will tell.

Though the voting was close, with Mel Gibson, Michael Richards, Britney herself, Paris Hilton, Lyndsay Lohan and Saddam Hussein all gettin their share of the votes - KFed came out on top of the bottom and thus here is a brief play by play of a year that would justify changing the old cliche to "Better off Kfed."
Riding the coat-tails of wife Britney Spears, dancer-turned-rapper Kevin Federline somehow kept himself in the news during 2006; but it seems as though K-Fed's 15 minutes were up hours ago. However, an attempt at a rap career has kept him around a bit longer than expected.
In late 2005, a single from Federline's debut CD was leaked onto the internet and it looked as if the chances of getting the actual album out were slim to none. Critics bashed the single, titled Y'all Ain't Ready, comparing him to Vanilla Ice despite his claims that he'll sell 2 million albums. One critic even said "my ears are bleeding" after hearing the song.
In early 2006 it was reported that K-Fed wanted to open a Las Vegas night club-- just in case his pop career tanked. His million dollar idea would most likely entail Britney's financial support though; something that she probably wasn't interested in investing in since Federline is nearly broke after spending most of the pay he received from the couple's reality TV series (remember that?) "Britney & Kevin: Chaotic," from which he reportedly banked $3.6 million. Federline claims he doesn't spend his wife's money and says he has to provide as a male and a father and not rely on Britney's fortunes for support. Even Donald Trump commented about how Britney put her career on hold and that K-Fed seems to just spend all of her money. Considering that the couple would head off to marriage counseling shortly thereafter leads one to believe that he is, indeed, costing Brit a lot of money.
Britney's fans can't stand Federline, and some have gone as far as starting websites dedicated to trying to get her to divorce him. As for the just plain annoying factor, website AmIannoying.com ranked Federline in its top 100 Most Annoying people for the last three years in a row. In 2004 he barely squeaked in at 100, making the list even though most of us hardly knew him then. But in 2005 he climbed to #22. Now, in 2006, K-Fed cracked the top 20, landing at #18. Over 75% of his votes are for "annoying." And Justin Timberlake refers to him as a 'walking punchline.'
While K-Fed was recording and putting the finishing touches on his album, Britney announced that she was pregnant again with the couple's second Federling; and rumors were abound saying that the couple was splitting up. A poem that appeared on Britney's site, albeit briefly, helped fuel the rumors. Spears gave an exclusive interview to Matt Lauer on NBC's "Dateline" though, and defended her marriage, insisting that Federline wasn't using her and that she loved and supported him.
As she began setting the wheels in motion to get her own career started again, and despite laughing at his attempts at music in late 2005; Jive Records, Britney's label, quickly handed Federline a recording contract despite his failure to land one elsewhere. Speculation had it that Britney coerced the label to sign him. In fact, R&B star Ne-Yo, who is helping Spears with her comeback, said that Federline "really needs songwriting help," after hearing his first single, Popozao. However, the record deal wouldn't pan out as Federline would start his own company, 'Federation Records,' due to the snub. The release of Federline's debut album, titled Playing With Fire was delayed from mid-August to October so he could record a duet with his wife to feature on the album.
K-Fed released his debut album, Playing With Fire and it wasn't received well at all. He blamed his shaky start in music on having his wife's reputation overshadowing him. And Britney tried to help him by bribing her fans with a contest for their help selling his CD. In the end, initial sales of the CD, around 7000 copies sold, proved that nobody is interested in what Federline has to offer, and that perhaps, indeed, this time his 15 minutes are over. Critics bashed the CD and bloggers tore it up, calling it one of the biggest jokes of the year.
Shortly before the album dropped, the couple had announced that they would renew their wedding vows (already) in October, after the birth of their second child (and in an effort to return to happy family life), but things would go downhill after that. In early November Britney sent a text message to Kevin, saying it was over. Then she filed for divorce. After the split, K-Fed claimed that he is "America's most hated man" at one of his concerts supporting his album. You know you're having a bad year when you get a Dear John text.
Federline is going to battle for custody of their two children, however it looks like that's just his way of telling the world he's not going away without a fight. With all that hatred going for him you'd think he could spin that into something, he could replace Simon Cowell?
