Yakin Tapped To Pen New 'Conan' Movie

Greatnews! It looks like there will be a new CONAN THE BARBARIAN movie, as Warner Brothers have hired Boaz Yakin (REMEMBER THE TITANS) to write and maybe direct the film. Irving Azoff, Jon Jashni, Richard Alexander and Akiva Goldsman are on board as producers. Not much more is known, though Variety reports that the studio are looking toward an early 2007 start date for the flick. Conan's first outings in the movies were the Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicles CONAN THE BARBARIAN and CONAN THE DESTROYER, which were made back in the 1980's. The new Boaz Yakin version is thought to be staying to true to the original comic books by Robert E. Howard.
