Black Dynamite is part parody and part loving homage to the blaxploitation films of the 70's. The film features a hilariously brilliant turn by Michael Jai White as the title character, a tough as nails urban hero who spends his days keeping the streets clean and romancing the ladies.

Director Scott Sanders and his crew have gone to great, painstaking lengths to capture the tone of 70's cult classics like Dolemite and Shaft, and the end result is an irreverant (and hilarious) movie that manages to bring the funny more often than not. Its certainly the kind of film fans of Austin Powers would appreciate.

Through a blazing 70's inspired soundtrack, a charismatic and buffed up Michael Jai White (who also co-wrote the screenplay),a hilariously conceived animated sex sequence, a cameo by the legendary Captain Kangaroo, and intentionally sloppy cinematography, Black Dynamite manages to sustain it's loopy energy for an entire ninety minutes.
