This boring romantic comedy stars David Schwimmer, and Jason Lee as buddies whose friendship is put to the test. Kissing a Fool has nothing new to offer the romantic comedy scenario, nor does it have the charm that made The Wedding Singer so much fun.

What it does have are Jason Lee and Mili Avital, two likable stars who can't quite rise above this lousy material. Lee, who was so funny in last year's indie hit Chasing Amy, does a good job here, but he's so restrained, he looks like he's going to explode!

Avital is cute and sympathetic but isn't given anything exciting to do. Schwimmer spends most of the film blurting out the F word in an attempt to make people forget he's Ross from Friends. His dialogue is so forced, that you never buy into his character.

Kissing a Fool is told through flashback, by the always delightful Bonnie Hunt. By the end of the film, you're expected to care about the outcome. The outcome is so predictable, that I didn't care. For once, I'd like to see a romantic comedy where the characters behave the way we would in a given situation, instead of running around and acting like a bunch of idiots!
