One of the most dependable and profitable actors in Hollywood can finally add a royal bomb to his, until now, impressive resume. Harrison Ford stars with Anne Heche in the ill-conceived and virtually plotless romantic comedy, Six Days, Seven Nights. A shockingly dull effort from comedy director Ivan Reitman (Ghostbusters, Stripes, and Twins.)

Ford plays a pilot who crash lands his plane in the middle of nowhere. As fate would have it, he finds himself stranded with big-city-girl Heche. Naturally, they can't stand each other, but the attraction is inevitable. It's all a bunch of pretentious hooey as this unlikely pair battle Mother Nature and modern day pirates in an attempt to survive.

Since Six Days, Seven Nights doesn't have much of a story, it relies on the charismatic stars to win us over. Unfortunately, this isn't nearly enough. Ford exudes a certain amount of charm and has a good sense of comic timing, but why on Earth he decided to be a part of this mess is beyond me. Heche, who was so good in Wag the Dog, doesn't bring much to her role of a feisty magazine editor, but she still is a likable screen presence. Even the gorgeous cinematography doesn't save us. The problem with this story is WHO CARES! I sure didn't! I never once believed any of these characters were in any real danger, nor was I swept away with it's romantic aspirations.

Although slightly better than Godzilla and Deep Impact, this summer film felt like it took Six Days and Seven Nights to watch.
