Johnny Depp makes a return to the big screen after quite sometime. Unfortunately, this is one boring vehicle for an actor of such great range.

Depp plays Spencer, an astronaut who finds himself in a mission gone bad. Upon his return to Earth, his wife (played by The Devil's Advocate heroine Charlize Theron) suspects that he isn't entirely the man she married.

It's really tough trying to figure out exactly what this film wants to be. It's not really scary or scientific either. The film just floats from one scene to the next, borrowing from classics like Rosemary's Baby to ridiculous films like Species.

Depp and Theron are outstanding talents caught in a worthless plot. The filmmakers have fashioned a good looking movie, but one without any point. Late summer is usually reserved for films in which studios have no faith. The Astronaut's Wife further proves this disheartening theory.

good film for the psychological mind. some tense moments when he puts his hand on the satchel right before her. very complicated film, however, if you work it out you will realise that it has a brilliant plot to it. johnny depp is my best actor, he's done better films but i dont think this one let him down. charlize theron could have been played by someone else though. elfman
