This title should read: The Movie Is Not Enough. Pierce Brosnan returns for the third time in the nineteenth installment of the highly lucrative James Bond franchise.

The World Is Not Enough incorporates every aspect that should make a good 007 adventure work, but it just doesn't happen this time.

What we have is one really good Bond babe in the form of Sophie Marceau (Braveheart) and an absolutely horrible one in the shape of Denise Richards (Starship Troopers). Every time she opens her mouth to speak, it evokes genuine laughter from the audience. I mean come on already, looks can only get you so far. Also along for the ride is the obligatory Bond villain played with gusto by Robert Carlyle (Full Monty). Unfortunately, his roll is underwritten. Holding it all together is Brosnan, who seems to be very comfortable in the roll of the infamous 007 and he is certainly the best Bond since Sean Connery.

Perhaps the biggest error in judgement was bringing in director Micheal Apted (Nell and Gorrillas In The Mist). Although competent, he seems unskilled in the action sequences and too apt in the dramatic moments. What we're left with is one of the most disappointing Bond adventures, although it isn't nearly as bad as A View To A Kill (which featured one of the best Bond villains, Christopher Walken).

The World Is Not Enough will no doubt make millions, but it's a far cry from the best of 007.
