Adema's debut album is one of the hottest new releases to hit stores since Tool's Lateralus. Fronted by Jonathan Davis' half brother Mark Chavez--who sounds remarkably like the Korn frontman--Adema is one of the brightest spots on the nu-metal horizon. Unlike Korn, Adema favor rock-solid power chords and are far more straight-ahead than Chavez' half-bro's influential band. Some may say that Adema are riding on the stalks of Korn's success, but this can also be said of every band from Limp Bizkit to Slipknot). Trust me, Adema is no cheap clone and they can more than hold their own.
This is a great record from top to bottom, and those of you who tune into 107.5 have probably heard their single "Giving Into You" in heavy rotation. I think Adema will have their 15 minutes of well deserved fame, but with the current flood of this type of music it's hard to say if things will last. In any case, Adema are blasting onto the scene with a record every metalhead should own.
