About six months ago, Andrea Bocelli burst onto the scene with the airing of his musical extravaganza on PBS. Ever since then, he has become a world renowned opera singer (he is constantly heralded as the next Pavoratti) and captured the hearts and ears of millions with his magnificent tenor voice. Sogno means "dream" in Italian and it proves to be a most fitting title. Bocelli, as usual, sings with his heart--breathing new life into, what seems like, cliche romance lyrics. My only complaint is that, unlike his previous albums, most of the tracks are without the accompaniment of an orchestra. At times, it almost sounds like an experimental techo album with some guy singing tenor. If you haven't picked it up yet, get his first album, Romanza, and leave Sogno to continue dreaming.
