Alright, so call me biased. Everyone knows I'm a huge fan of U2 but that doesn't change the fact that All That You Can't Leave Behind is one of the strongest releases of the year. While most bands have strived to try something new (i.e. Radiohead), U2 opts to go back to the organic sound that made them a household name. Although not a complete return to their roots, this new album brims with simplicity and includes Walk On and When I Look at the World, two of the best songs I feel the band has ever written. Only on the heavyhanded "Peace on Earth" and the less than steller closer "Grace" does the album slightly falter, and not nearly enough to take away from the genius that is All That You Can't Leave Behind. Although not quite within the classic realm of Unforgettable Fire, Joshua Tree, and Achtung Baby, it comes awfully close. Those of you that were disappointed with the vastly underrated Pop (an album I really enjoyed), you will, no doubt, be very impressed with this
