The early 90's were an amazing time, Grunge rock gave way to a total rebirth of the music industry and an entire generation that couldn't help but be caught up in it. One of the bands making waves at this time was Blind Melon, a band that amid the angst and grind of bands like Nirvana and Soundgarden seemed more influenced by vintage Janis Joplin and Led Zeppelin. Tragically the band's career was cut short when Shannon Hoon died of a heroin overdose. Then again such was the case with so many of Generation X's brightest stars. Classic Remasters is a testament of a really great band's finest work, and a haunting reminder of what could have been. But at least we have these songs and the albums they belong to for reminicence and enjoyment.
