Cradle of Filth is one of my favorite acquired tastes, pure darkness captured on disc. Cradle is probably the biggest and best black metal band on earth, in this last year they set a new standard for their genre by being signed to a major label. Lovecraft and Witch Hearts is a collection of their best songs from their years at Koch records, as well as a few new tracks and remixes. It even includes my favorite Cradle song "From the Cradle to Enslave," that appeared on the album of the same name. It will be interesting to see what the next few years hold for this British, black metal band, they seem to get bigger by the year and being signed to a major label will only bring more notoriety.
So until we see their first major label release you can console yourself with this two disc collection of pure nightmarish chaos. If this alone doesn't satisfy Filth fans, they've just released their first dvd. Naturally Cradle of Filth are not going to be everybody's taste, but if you like good dark heavy metal similar to evil thrash or speed metal this may just be what your looking for.
