I'll admit that when I first picked this album up, I was afraid that the music contained on the disc wouldn't match the atmosphere it advertised, i.e. the music wouldn't be dreamlike. As is turned out my assumptions were completely wrong and as a result, I have since found a new disc to leave in my player full time.

First off, how would you go wrong with a line-up that includes Tricky, Morcheeba, Moby, Dead Can Dance, Massive Attack, Cocteau Twins, and many more? The compilers of this disc should be commended for their selection. This album follows in the footsteps as such forerunners as This Mortal Coil and Massive Attack, including acts that have graced such past compilation celebrations. Every song is a slow, soothing, and relaxing piece of trance music without all the annoying, repetitious beats of standard issue techno. Highlights include tracks by Pigeonhead, Tricky, Moby, Cocteau Twins, and an unbelievably cool cover of a Guns n' Roses song by Luna.

My only complaint is that these songs have all been previously released on their respective artistsÕ albums. What IÕd really like to see is a compilation where all of these artists contribute new songs. This is a petty complaint, however, Dreamland is definitely worth the fifteen bucks--if you donÕt have some of these albums already.
