I was quite excited to check this record out simply by virtue of their single "It Feels So Damn Good" which had been in heavy rotation on my favorite satellite station. I still love the tune, but in truth I should report that the rest of this record sounds awfully underfed. Much of the album sounds like discarded out-takes from San Francisco's underrated Creeper Lagoon. The second track is a piss-poor retooling of about half of the Foo Fighters catalogue and it pretty much goes down hill from there. I'm not ready to write these guys off altogether, but Comfort In Sound is clumsy, derivative and totally underwhelming. Most of the lyrics sound like they were pieced together using a rhyming dictionary and there just doesn't seem to be an original or inspired moment anywhere save their single. Pretty disappointing I was expecting this album to be something special.
