One of the better albums of 2001 will finally sees the light of day here in the U.S. on April 23rd. Gay Dad, whose last album Leisure Noise sounded a lot like the red-headed stepchild of Radiohead, returns as the blonde-haired blue eyed offspring of another great British band Supergrass. As forgettable as Leisure Noise was, this album is surprisingly rockin'. Songs like "Harder Faster," and "Now Always And Forever" unveil jaw-dropping hooks, and beats that will make bob your head before you even realize you've begun. The best song on the album, "Nightclub," also has the funniest line if you can relate to being worried about the woman across from you at the club "Your so beautiful, do you have a chaperone?" It's only when Gay Dad sing on "Plane Going Down" that you know they have a sincere heart. With the melancholy line "Suicide is overrated, tried it once, I left myself behind," you know these guys have true emotion down as big as their stylistic sense of humor.
