These guys are bitchin'. Hailing from the crap infested wasteland of Los
Angeles these dudes know how to rock, and I am not just saying this
because my friend Andy is the bassist and high pitched screamer. What the
Horse is known for is Nintendocore. Picture the gnarliest guitar riffs,
the fastest Pantera-esque double bass drum, a scrawny screaming bass
player, high pitched screaming and low death growls, and then toss in the
soundtrack from Zelda or Castlevania and you'll have Nintendocore, which
is Horse the Band. I saw these guys live and as the aural assault hit me I could literally feel the crap rolling down my leg. R.Borlax is the Horse's first release on Pluto records distributed by Revelation records. Although the band is finding success they still have trouble finding a steady drummer, going through about four or five a year.
The album includes a lot random sound clips the Video Game Movie The
Wizard, complete with power glove references. The songs are pretty
hilarious ranging from lyrics about killing bunnies to random death and
violence. The definite hammer song though on this disc would have to be
"Cutsman" a song about a robot with scissors on his head that kills and
mangles people that cross his path, "there was a robotic retard with a blank empty stare/ it was a little android man half the size that I am scissors on his head/
sccciiisssssoooorrrssss on his fucking head!" If you like off the wall
metal thrash with a keyboard/synth overtones seek out Horse the Band.
