Jonny Lang's debut album, Lie To Me, was a collection of great blues lyrics matched with some fiery guitar playing. Together with Kenny Wayne Shepherd, they resurrected the guitar driven blues sound that seemed to have died with Stevie Ray Vaughan. Now two years and one haircut later, Lang once again delivers the goods in the bluesiest of fashion.

Wander This World definitely displays the maturity of Lang. Almost every song has a full, enveloping sound that was absent from most of the tracks from his first album. However, his blues riffs are still very apparent. Also on board for this ride is fellow Blues Brother guitar alumnus Steve 'The Colonel' Cropper. Lang's vocals are just as strong as they were on Lie To Me--this time complemented nicely by strong background vocals.

I was a bit disappointed to learn that Lang only wrote two songs on this album. Every other song was written by one of his other guitarists. One song was actually written by Prince! Now Prince is a great songwriter, but it was odd to find him in the liner notes of this album. It just doesnÕt mesh well with Lang's style. Although the album is a very good effort, itÕs not as jam-packed with blues gems as his first. But that's not exactly bad either.
