Everyone's favorite scratchy-voiced, strung-out soul singer is back with her second helping of funk, soul, disco, and really strange lyrics (see the tracks entitled "Gimme All Your Lovin' Or I Will Kill You" and "Relating To A Psychopath"). But other than her funked-up ideas of love and friendship, this album is quite a bit better than her debut--whereas her first album is Reservoir Dogs, this album is Pulp Fiction. Her lyrical and songwriting skills have finally culminated into an offering worthy of the accolades she has been receiving for the past two years. The Id is a pretty good dance album with one toe-tapping track after another.
