This album is just pure pleasure. Everyone I've played it for wants it immediately. A side project of Red House Painters Mark Kozelek, this album takes the lyrics of Bon Scott (AC/DC's deceased frontman) and completely retools the melodies into an aural-friendly acoustic guitar setting that retain all of the power and emotion of Scott's words, while creating a hypnotic voyage that ends long before you want it to. The album's somewhat short running length is the only weakness here, and the incredibly rich and compelling voice of Kozelek is it's undeniable strength. Caution: listening to this album can become habit-forming.
