Come the end of the year, you can bet that Screaming Trees Dust will make my list for best albums of the decade. One of the most underrated of the Seattle-scene bands, Screaming Trees are passionate and innovative and deserve a spot alongside their more famous peers--Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Pearl Jam.

Frontman Mark Lanegan returns with another of his many solos projects, and this is quite possibly his best. I'll Take Care of You is a collection of terrific blues and spiritual tunes that works amazingly well delivered by Lanegan's distinctive vocals. He grabs you by the guts and doesn't let go. Grinding away on such songs as "Boogie Boogie," he displays an amazing amount of passion and conviction on an album that is simple but very effective.

Lanegan is one of the most underappreciated singers in the business, and I can only hope that a new Screaming Trees album isn't far behind. For now, I'll Take Care Of You more than whets the appetite.
