After the one-two punch of Come On, Come On, and Stones In the Road, I couldn't have been a bigger fan of Mary CC. As a lyricist and a storyteller, she knows few peers, and although she's considered a Country act, her music transcends genres and weaves tunefully thoughtful spells that make it truly universal. No one so eloquently evokes the highs and lows of love. With a soothing melody she can totally break your heart. I was disappointed with her follow up to Stones, Almost Home, something went wrong there, it sounded terribly forced, and I questioned whether she still had it in her to make another great record. Thankfully, Time, Sex, Love proves that she's still got mad game. There are a few slight misfires here and there's nothing that surpasses her former brilliance, but she's matched it and that's plenty good enough.
