Matthew Sweet has been making consistently great music for just about 15 years. His penchant for hooky Beatlesque pop is rivaled only by Crowded House and XTC. He's equal parts Brian Wilson, John Lennon and Jeff Lynne, and In Reverse is perhaps his best. He's never quite made it to Household Name status, but he has a loyal following, and In Reverse is going to make this loyal following very happy.

If you're unfamiliar with Matthew, this is a good jumping in place. It's full of the catchy tunes, lovely harmonies and jangling guitars that have made him such an influence on recent bands such as Fountains Of Wayne and Fastball. If you're looking for the perfect gift for that special person on your Halloween shopping list, it doesn't get any Sweeter.
