NOFX keeps their punk attitude rolling strong with their latest F-ert So Long And Thanks For All The Shoes. This album addresses everything from everyday angst and social values, to murdering the government. What more could you possibly ask?
Aside from the tracks being relatively short, and a terrible French song called "Champs Elysees"--Shoes is a consistently strong album. It's running time is only 33:09, but don't let this discourage you from picking it up--it's worth every minute.
Some high points are "Dad's Bad News," "Kids Of The K-Hole" and the 46 second epic "Murder The Government." I've heard it said that Shoes is not in line with the grand NOFX tradition--but I disagree. It still delivers the same sucker punch that drew me to them in the first place.
If you're new to the punk rock scene, NOFX is a good place to start. You may also want to sample some of their previous records such as Punk In Drublic. The FX are intoxicating. So long and thanks for reading this.
