The influence no doubt behind the quirky charm of artists like Suzanne Vega and Shawn Colvin, Nanci has been cranking out albums full of these nifty melodic musings for decades. "I am a clock without hands--I'm just tickin' and that's all," is the title track payoff, that sets the tone for a great collection of precious little gems that don't stop. Limp Bizkit fans take note--I'm kidding, but if you've ever been any kind of fan of the elfin, elder stateswoman, it's time to jump back in. The knockout track is "Shaking Out The Snow," a lovely tribute to the ailing wonderdkind Victoria Williams. I've followed this good old gal for a good many years and IÕm so happy to see her in such excellent form. I think this is her best album and that's saying something.
