P.O.D (a.k.a Limp Bizkit, Papa Roach, Saliva, etc.) has tried in vain to stand out from the countless roster of rap-metal or nu-metal bands that have no business being classified as Metal. The downfall of this type of music isn't the music itself, but the cliched, soulless lack of message and originality. Despite all this, I have to confess that P.O.D. has crafted a very listenable record. On Satellite, the boys demonstrate their evolution into a better rock band, that is much more than a one-hit-wonder. Even though the band seems to be maturing and expanding with their music, it's hard to say if they'll achieve any kind of longevity. Still and all, Satellite is one of the more defining records I've heard from this style of music since Limp Bizkit's Chocolate Starfish. Rest assured with tracks like "Alive" and "Youth of the Nation" this album will continue to get heavy rotation on 107.5. So prepare yourself for P.O.D. overdose.
