It's amazing to think that Scott Harren a.k.a. Prefuse 73 had any outtakes at all after the 23-track behemoth that was One Word Extinguisher. But here we are, and only months after that fantastic release comes Extinguished: Outtakes, 23! more tracks from this brilliant mind in music. Some of these tracks are just reworkings of originals taken from One Word Extinguisher, but most are actual unreleased tracks! And what a treasure trove of tracks they are. Most outtake albums that artists put out are usually rough, and have an awkward, incomplete feel. Extinguished, however, stands on its own - as another collection of eclectic masterwork from Harren. Even more remarkable is that this release gets the point across in half the time that he took on One Word Extinguisher. Clocking in at 37 minutes, Extinguished has a brisk and invigorating pace that never feels too erratic. Extinguished in the perfect companion piece to those who already own One Word Extinguisher, or to any fan of the glitch techno genre.
