Primer 55 first appeared on the scene with their debut Introduction To Mayhem and seemed to be nothing more than another Sepultura clone. However a few years later, Primer 55 have had some time to think about the musical direction of their sophomore effort. On the new release Primer 55 prove to all that they are a band who has a few more tricks up their sleeve--combining pretty much everything you can successfully mix with metal in this day and age. My personal favorite is track 1 "This Life," which could easily go head to head with anything off off the Deftones White Pony. This is a good diverse record that, despite my opinion of their first record, really did impress me. I personally would not look for these guys to achieve success of a large scale, but you've got to hand it to them for recovering from a near fatal first album.
