TAFKAP is still squealing and groaning his way into the Neo-Funk of the millennium and I for one am glad he's still around. I'm not a huge fan of his later releases, but he's obviously doing something right to have held the rapt attention of hoards of screaming fans that buy his CDs in record quantities. TAFKAP has quite a talent for blending very diverse elements throughout his latest effort. He goes from gospel to scratching to blues to rock and it all sounds cohesive; none of it seems awkward or misplaced, it sounds right. He really is on the forefront of the new sound of funk. If you had any doubts about him being a boundary breaker, take this into consideration: he put a commercial for a website on his CD, track 17. His lyrics haven't progressed much, he still sings about sex and being horny, and writes in Jr. High jargon (Y U Screamin'?, U R a ho bcuz U don't luz me Ny more). Even though this really irritates me, I still respect the guy for having the guts (or the money) to do what he wants. This release is more of the same funky dance rock that we've come to expect from the 5 ft 4' sex machine and if this is what you desire, you wonÕt be left in the cold.
