This album is one of those tricky calls that require you to distinguish between brilliance and plagiarism. Not since the Radiohead clone Palo Alto have I been on the horns of such a dilemma. Remy Zero is saved by diversifying their obvious influences between not only Radiohead but U2, as well as The Verve's Richard Ashcroft--with a dash of The Dandy Warhols.

Though alot of the hooks are awfully U2ish, they're undeniably good. My instincts were such that I really forced this album to earn my respect and I must say I'm sold. There's much here to love from fans as far-flung as pre-Kid A Radiohead, and Coldplay to bands like Train and Vertical Horizon.

All bands sound like other bands, hell you can trace just about everything back to the Beatles and the Stones. All I know is that Remy Zero sounds pretty damn good to me.
