Easy Tiger marks the first album for Mr. Adams since he and his band The Cardinals released three separate albums in 2005 (Cold Roses, Jacksonville City Nights and 29, respectively). If you were going to compare Easy Tiger to any of those three it would have to be Jacksonville City Nights, since this new album leans more towards his country roots.

Easy Tiger opens with the easily likeable "Goodnight Rose." Its blended harmonies and infectious guitar licks are soothing and it's very reminiscent of Adams' first band Whiskeytown. First single "Halloweenhead" is the most rockin' tune on the album and it shows Adams channeling that self-deprecating Paul Westerberg style he apes from time to time. "Oh My God, Whatever, Etc." and album closer "I Taught Myself How To Grow Old" are the two tear-jerkers here and their soft piano and harmonica parts respectively are enough to rip through your heart strings. My personal favorite though would have to be the banjo led "Pearls On A String," that song would fit nicely next to anything off of his first solo record Heartbreaker. All in all, Easy Tiger is yet another high-quality release from an artist who's starting to make high output consistency look all too easy.
