Mark Linkous resides in a world of his own. An American Gothic landscape smack dab in the middle of the Blair Woods, where he cultivates a darkly charming musical opium that is hard to resist. His haunting melodies croak forth as from an unrepentant junky who will forever perceive a harsh beauty in his private hell.

He likes his crabby hermit personae, and much like fellow wallowers Mark Everett of Eels and Joseph Arthur, Linkous continues to explore this shadowy, seductive territory that creeps slowly along a dark path of haunting melodies and quirky, disturbing themes. The brave guests appearing in his strange landscape include P.J. Harvey, Tom Waits and Nina Persson of the Cardigans.
