What can I say? When you take a band that's had as many hits as Sublime and compile a release with only 10 songs, you feel...well, cheated. This compilation has all of their best plus two videos you can watch on your computer. But you feel like they missed something. Maybe this emptiness is spurred simply because greatest hits always miss good songs, or maybe it's because of the sense of loss of a successful band cut short of time. Just as there was not enough time for this band to reach their full potential (because of vocalist Bradley's untimely death) so it is with this CD--it's recording length doesn't allow Sublime's greatest hits to reach it's full potential
The song line-up on this compilation looks more like an import version of their self-titled album, with a few extra tracks off of 40 Oz. To Freedom. My suggestion is this, if you are a habitual Sublime listener, you already own all these songs, buy this only if you want the videos. If you are more of a casual Sublime listener buy the two albums I mentioned above--this is the only truly Sublime way to go. If you're interested in some good So. California rock save your money for the new Long Beach Dub All Stars.
