I'd say that, so far, this is the album to beat in 2002 and perhaps the most fully-realized album I've ever heard from and Indie/ Emo band. Impressive, smart songcrafting, Pop, but not too Poppy, enough of a punky edge, arty, but not for art's sake. Nice. Josh Berwanger sings these tunes like the cloned brainchild of Frank Black and Travis' Fran Healy, with keyboard player Adrianne Pope backing him up with a novel mixture of mercurial harmonies.

There are scarcely any Emo bands to compare them with, unless you count Weezer, Let's call it Pixies /meets/ Catherine Wheel /meets / Travis, there I've done it yet again, used other bands to disguise my inability to describe music without the crutch of comparison. Your Majesty is a royal treat from some gifted kids from Kansas, who are on a roll in a league of their own.
