Though this is the Cardigans fourth studio effort, like myself you're probably most familiar with them for their 97 Blondiesque hit
"Love me love me say that you need me, hold me hold me . . ." You probably know the song. I didn't mind it the first few times I heard it, but I knew a girl who insisted on playing the song over and over and over and over, until it got on my nerves to the point where I was forced to kill her.
Needless to say I wasn't expecting much from their latest release, Gran Turismo. My first impression was hey this doesn't suck all that bad, and it doesnt. It's alright I suppose, I can give it a lukewarm recommendation to fans of say, the Cranberries or the Sundays, but singer Nina Persson is a bit too precious, and her lyrics don't hold up under scrutiny. It just doesn't contain any songs that you'd particularly care to ever hear again. And that's not good. There's no emotional or musical edge to it and the more I listened to it the less I liked it. Save your money.
